A trip to Fountainebleu State park is where you'll find

a not-so-secret beach-like oasis on Lake Pontchartrain.

It reminded me of my actually-pretty-secret favorite location to shoot maternity sessions in Florida, just a little more swampy. Trading the palm tree's for cypress and blue salt water for murky fresh. I asked my client if she wanted to get into the water, (we shot in mid October and the water was already pretty chilly) but her response was "yes...there's no alligators right?" and to that I replied "I have no idea, I'll get in first"

Turns out Fountainebleu State Park is a very popular location among the local New Orleans and Northshore photographers. We were among more than 10 other groups of people trying to get their photo-shoots in right before golden hour. Luckily Fountainebleu State Park is huge and there is more than enough space for everyone to take turns in all of the pretty areas of the park. You can't even tell this park was absolutely popping with people this day.
